As they were on the rise in K-pop industry they had no intentions of entering Japan music industry but they were approached by around 10 Japanese agencies with an offer to sign contracts. Eventually they signed under Sony Music Japan.

After it was revealed that 2PM would be releasing a DVD much like SNSD did with their debut, it seems that the DVD has ranked at number one!

2PM’s Japanese debut DVD, Hottest, will contain the group’s music videos, unreleased history videos and photoshoots. Along with Japanese fans, 2PM fans all over Asia are anticipating this DVD release.
Preorders for the group’s DVD has jumped to number one just two days after it was provided on Tower Records, HMV, and other large music selling sites.
